Why are some organizations successful over the long term while others, after
promising beginnings, experience difficulties or even failure?
Based on a combination of research and practical experience, Dr. Yvonne Randle,
Vice President of Management Systems Consulting Corporation, will provide a
conceptual framework or “lens” which explains what must be done
to build organizations, which have a high probability of continuing to be successful
over the long-term. She will also help participants understand how to use this
lens in understanding what they can do to improve their organization’s
effectiveness.
She will identify:
- The six key “strategic building blocks” of successful organizations.
- The types of transitions that organizations face as they grow and change.
- The typical “growing pains” which result when these transitions
have not been executed appropriately.
- Suggested action steps that can be taken by an organization to improve
its chances of successful long-term growth.
As a part of this program, participants will complete two surveys:
- Growing Pains Survey©: Measures the extent to which a company is dealing
with ten common growing pains – identified by Management Systems as
important indicators of organizational performance.
Participants will receive a report summarizing the overall extent to which
growing pains are being experienced within their company, along with a rating/ranking
of the severity of each growing pain included in the survey.
- The Organizational Effectiveness Survey©: Assesses the extent to which
a company has developed the systems, processes, structures, etc. needed to
support its current and anticipated operations. Participants will receive
a report summarizing “where their company is” with respect to
its development.
A series of workshops throughout the two day program will help participants
apply what they are learning to their companies in “real time.”
A key deliverable of the program will be the identification of specific opportunities
to improve short- and long-term success and specific action plans for maximizing
these opportunities. This output can be used as input to developing the company’s
strategic plan.
